R.C. Garnett Elementary School Addition

Institutional
Langley, BC

The project entailed the design and construction of an eight-classroom addition to R.C. Garnett Elementary. Mechanical design included unit ventilator design per classroom and a central rooftop energy recovery ventilator to ventilate the addition.  Main building heating system capacity and configuration were analyzed to determine if the existing boiler plant was sufficient to heat the addition. A new boiler, new pumps, and new heating water distribution system was designed in the main building to heat the addition.  Existing domestic water line, sanitary drain lines, storm water lines, and fire protection line were modified and carefully extended from the main building to serve the addition.

Raymond Cho was the mechanical lead for this project while at MCW Vancouver.
